FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 8, 2025) – Oklahoma State’s Ethan Fang, Auburn’s Jackson Koivun and Oklahoma’s Jase Summy have been named the finalists for the Ben Hogan Award’s Golfer of the Month accolade for August. All three players were members of the United States Walker Cup team over the weekend and are among the top four players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

Fang, a junior from Plano, Texas, tied for first place at The Carmel Cup, the initial college tournament of the season (205, -11). After sharing medalist honors in stroke play at the Western Amateur, Fang earned a runner-up showing in match play. In his only other event of the month, he missed the cut at the 312-player U.S. Amateur (152, +12). In all, he earned 43.2 total WAGR points.

Koivun, a junior from Chapel Hill, N.C., had his best career PGA TOUR finish with a share of fifth at the Wyndham Championship. In the event, he carded a 72-hole total of 266 (-14). Additionally, he advanced to the match play round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur after sharing eighth place in stroke play (139, -1). He claimed 33.1 WAGR pts over two events (16.55 per tournament).

Summy, a senior from Keller, Texas, collected a pair of wins, as he was victorious at the Western Amateur Championship and tied for first at The Carmel Cup (205, -11). The Western Amateur victory came after he tied for 11th during stroke play (279, -1). In addition, he reached the round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur after finishing top-10 in stroke play (139, -1). In all, he earned 53.8 WAGR points over three events.

The Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of foundation members from the Ben Hogan Award and Friends of Golf as well from as the award’s selected partners. In addition, a Fan Vote on social media through Tuesday at 5 p.m. (CT) will give the top vote getter on each of the @benhoganaward social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) a bonus committee vote. The winner will be announced on Wednesday.

The Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird annually recognizes the top collegiate golfer considering all college, amateur and professional events played over the 12-month period beginning with the 2025 NCAA Championships and running through the 2026 NCAA Regionals.
