FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 11, 2026) – Arizona’s Filip Jakubcik, SMU’s William Sides and San Diego State’s Harry Takis, all players ranked among the top 50 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, are the three finalists for Ben Hogan Award January Golfer of the Month accolades.

Jakubcik, a senior from Holesov, Czech Republic, started the college spring semester with a two-shot win at the Arizona N.I.T. with a 3-round score of 202 (-14). The world’s sixth-ranked amateur had a 67.33 scoring average over his three rounds and accumulated 18.3 World Amateur Golf Rankings points for his resume.

Sides, listed No. 22 in the world, won the weather-shortened Jones Cup Invitational by two strokes with a 2-round score of 138 (-6). He followed with a share of 11th at the Southwestern Invitational (211, +1). The senior from Tulsa, Okla., posted a 69.80 stroke average over his five rounds and collected 32.8 WAGR points.

Takis, a native of Brisbane, Australia, opened the spring by winning the Southwestern Invitational by two with a 7-under score of 203. That came after a runner-up showing at the 2026 Australian Master of the Amateurs with a 4-round 277 (-11). The No. 46 amateur carried an average of 68.57 over seven rounds and added 31.6 WAGR points.

The Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of foundation members from the Ben Hogan Award and Friends of Golf as well from as the award’s selected partners. In addition, a Fan Vote on social media through Thursday at 10 p.m. (CT) will give the top vote getter on each of the @benhoganaward social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) a bonus committee vote. The winner will be announced on Friday.

The Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird annually recognizes the top collegiate golfer considering all college, amateur and professional events played over the 12-month period beginning with the 2025 NCAA Championships and running through the 2026 NCAA Regionals. This year the award is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Fort Worth.
