FORT WORTH, Texas (March 20, 2026) – Auburn junior Jackson Koivun has been named the Ben Hogan Award’s February Golfer of the Month following committee balloting and the social media fan vote. It is his second monthly honor during this award season after previously earning the accolade in July.

Koivun, the 2024 Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird winner and a 2025 Ben Hogan Award finalist, secured victories in both of his February tournaments. The No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) earned 45.4 WAGR points for those results, the highest monthly point total by any golfer.

The product of Chapel Hill, N.C., began with a five-shot victory at the Amer Ari Invitational with a 3-round, 25-under-par score of 191 (62-62-67). He smashed the school’s 54-hole scoring record by seven strokes, and at 20-under after two rounds, he broke the NCAA’s 36-hole record, previously held by Tiger Woods, by two shots.

Koivun followed that up by winning by two strokes at the Gators Invitational (209, -9) for his school-record seventh career win. For the month, he carried a 66.67 stroke average over six rounds.

The Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month selection committee is comprised of foundation members from the Ben Hogan Award and Friends of Golf as well from as selected partners of the award. In addition, a fan vote on social media earned the top vote getter on each of the @benhoganaward social media channels a bonus committee vote.

The other finalists for the February honor were South Carolina senior Frankie Harris and TCU freshman Nathan Miller.

Each May, the Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird recognizes the top collegiate golfer considering all college, amateur and professional events played over the 12-month period. The 2026 award season runs from the 2025 NCAA Championships through the 2026 NCAA Regionals.

The Ben Hogan Award has honored the outstanding amateur collegiate golfer at Colonial Country Club since 2002. Prior to its move to Fort Worth, the original Ben Hogan Trophy was issued by Friends of Golf at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles, Calif., beginning in 1990. Since 2002, the foundation has donated more than $1.3 million to charitable endeavors, providing scholarship grants to colleges as well as gifts to golf programs and organizations in need.
